Scholarships to attract researchers

 For several years, the City of Marseille has been implementing a procedure to promote research in Marseille. It aims to support the reception and installation of experienced researchers in the city.

Objectives of the project

 To promote the influence and attractiveness of Marseille's laboratories and research teams by awarding host or installation grants to high-level researchers and teacher-researchers who have chosen Marseille to work in their profession or to carry out their post-doctoral period.

Who can benefit from a reception allowance?

 - foreign researchers, holding a thesis or equivalent diploma and coming from a foreign laboratory.
- French researchers, who have defended their thesis in an academy other than Aix-Marseille and who have completed a post-doctoral fellowship abroad of at least 24 months.

In all cases, foreign or French researchers must receive main financial support and be hosted in a research laboratory, located in the municipality of Marseille, for a period of between one and three years.

Amount: 2,000 euros

Who can get an installation allowance?

 - French or foreign researchers or teacher-researchers, holding a thesis or an equivalent diploma, who have spent at least two years in a laboratory outside the Academy of Aix-Marseille.
- candidates must be assigned to a laboratory in the City of Marseille as part of an initial recruitment (as an intern or immediately after tenure) or transfer.

Amount: 3,000 euros

Terms and conditions

 Selection made by a jury composed of scientific personalities proposed by representatives of Aix-Marseille University and by public research organisations.
