Conference | Discovering the deep environment with BathyBot, the CNRS underwater robot

A conference A la découverte du milieu profond avec BathyBot, le robot sous-marin du CNRS will take place on Friday April 8, 2022 at 2:30 pm at the Théâtre couvert Châteauvallon-Liberté, scène nationale.

Speaker : Fanny Karatchodjoukova, communication officer of the Bathybot cruise project

It will be the eyes of researchers for a decade at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, at 2400m. BathyBot is an underwater robot that is particularly interested in bioluminescence phenomena. It will try to understand the origin and the role of this luminous activity in the darkness of the depths.

BathyBot will also assist researchers in the study of biodiversity and the carbon cycle.

Its presence in the Mediterranean will make it possible to broadcast beautiful images of the deep to the whole world, in the hope of raising awareness and preserving this little known universe.

We invite you to discover the fascinating science and technology behind this project!
