Coronavirus: guidelines for travel in Asia

Here are the safety instructions regarding the virus that has been identified in China in recent days and recently spread to South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan. Please read this message carefully and inform yourself about the risks and health guidelines regarding the Coronavirus in Asia.

All departures for missions to China are currently suspended: if you had obtained an authorization for a mission to China in the next few weeks, it is no longer valid. You are asked to postpone your trip.

FOR PERSONNEL PREPARING A MISSION IN SOUTH KOREA, TAIWAN, THAILAND, MALAYSIA OR JAPAN :

Please inform yourself before your departure about health precautions in Asia, the symptoms of the coronavirus, as well as all the precautionary advices to avoid contaminating your entourage.

YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN CHINA, SOUTH KOREA, TAIWAN, THAILAND, MALAYSIA OR JAPAN:

It is recommended:

Avoid all contact with live or dead animals, do not go to markets where animals are sold and avoid eating animal products that are undercooked or undercooked;
Avoid close contact with people suffering from respiratory infections;
Wash your hands regularly with soapy water or hydro-alcoholic washing solutions.
to take the usual precautions not to contaminate the surrounding area (isolate yourself, stay away, protect your mouth when coughing if necessary with a mask, use disposable tissues and wash your hands thoroughly) and to consult a doctor locally and quickly.

In case of symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, cough, breathing difficulties), it is recommended to put on a mask and to consult a public hospital locally and quickly (see links below), taking the usual precautions to avoid contaminating those around you (stay at a distance, protect your mouth when coughing, use disposable tissues and wash your hands thoroughly) and to inform the doctor of the people and places you are visiting.
