Funding for the 2021 Symposia

The IRD is launching a call for proposals to support international symposia organized or co-organized by research units or researchers of the Institute, or partner institutions. This call concerns symposia to be held in 2021.

Criteria of selection

The selection of conferences that will be eligible for financial support will be arbitrated by the Institute's Science Department, according to the following criteria:

the scientific quality of the event and its coherence with the scientific priorities of the IRD, in particular the Objectives of sustainable development; high level symposia of an interdisciplinary nature will be privileged;
the involvement of researchers from the South and the holding of the symposium in the South (the funding requested must be primarily intended for the participation of partner researchers from the South);
the visibility of the IRD (organizer, co-organizer, member of the scientific committee);
the influence of the symposium (international, number of participants, quality of speakers);
the co-financing collected.

Please note: internal seminars, summer schools, workshops or team meetings do not fall within the scope of this call, as well as funding for participation in conferences (registration fees, mission expenses, etc.) are not eligible.

To apply for symposium funding, please send the application form before October 23, 2020, by email to the Scientific and Technological Culture Mission: mcst@ird.fr.
