LMI BIOTECH2 Workshop

On May 28 and 29, 2024, the LMI BIOTECH2 team had the pleasure of organizing its first workshop in Tunis, Tunisia, at the prestigious Ramada Hotel. This landmark event strengthened our ties with our Tunisian collaborators and laid the foundations for future collaborations and directions for LMI BIOTECH2.

Discussions focused on broadening our thematic scope to include topical issues of great importance, such as the valorization of bioresources, sustainable agriculture and green chemistry. These fields represent crucial challenges for the region's scientific and economic development, and this LMI will aim to provide innovative and sustainable solutions at both national and international level.

By broadening its thematic horizons, the BIOTECH2 LMI is demonstrating its determination to adapt to contemporary challenges and respond to society's emerging needs. Our ambition is to create a consortium of experts capable of working together on multidisciplinary projects. This network of excellence will be able to respond to a wider range of calls for projects, both nationally and internationally, thus maximizing our scientific and societal impact.

In conclusion, this first workshop in Tunis was a resounding success, paving the way for strengthened cooperation within LMI BIOTECH2, bringing together two French institutes (M.I.O. and TBI) and two Tunisian institutes (ISSBAT and INRAP). The members of LMI BIOTECH2 are now looking forward to seeing the fruits of this collaboration, and to continuing to explore new avenues of research and innovation.
