Coronavirus recommendations - message from the Senior Defense and Security Official

A message from Marie-Anne LEVEQUE, Secretary General and Senior Defence and Security Official, on the recommendations to the establishments concerning the coronavirus:

As you know, on 31 December 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) was informed of several cases of pneumonia of viral origin in the city of Wuhan, China.

On 7 January 2020, the discovery of a new coronavirus, called "2019-nCov", was officially announced by the Chinese health authorities.

Coronavirus: guidelines for travel in Asia

Here are the safety instructions regarding the virus that has been identified in China in recent days and recently spread to South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia and Japan. Please read this message carefully and inform yourself about the risks and health guidelines regarding the Coronavirus in Asia.

All departures for missions to China are currently suspended: if you had obtained an authorization for a mission to China in the next few weeks, it is no longer valid. You are asked to postpone your trip.

Title: Structure and Functioning of Marine Ecosystems: Trophic Analysis, Modelling and Contamination

Summary:

The intermediate workshop of the MERITE-HIPPOCAMPE project took place at MIO on 16 and 17 January.

The aim of this workshop was to take stock of the progress of the analyses, and to present/discuss the first results from the HIPPOCAMPE offshore campaign, which took place in the Mediterranean in May 2019. Participants : MIO, IFREMER, INSTM, FSB, IRSN, LISA, IMT

 

Our MIO colleagues in Vietnam present their work in environmental protection

Alexis Drogoul, IRD Representative in Vietnam and 3 researchers, Benoit Gaudou, Emilie Strady (MIO) and Xavier Mari (MIO), participated on January 14, 2020 in a meeting co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam and the French Embassy in Vietnam on the theme of environmental protection.

AMU governance members: approval by the Board on 14/01/2020

The members of the Board of Directors, at its meeting of 14 January 2020 at 2.15 p.m., approved the list of Vice-Presidents and Advisors proposed by Eric Berton, President of Aix-Marseille University.

On Monday January 6, Eric Berton was elected with a large majority to the presidency of Aix-Marseille University by the members of the Board of Directors for a 4-year term.
Voting results: 28 votes out of 36 voters, against 5 votes for Philippe Blache, also candidate, and 3 blank votes.

Welcome to Anthony Bosse (OPLC) who joined the MIO on 06 January 2020.

After a PhD thesis followed by an ATER at the Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris, then a postdoctoral contract at the University of Bergen in Norway, Anthony Bosse joined the MIO as CNAP Assistant Physicist in January 2020.
