Radakovitch)<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">The project <strong>BALTOMS<\/strong> (2017-2019) is funded by Labex OT-MED.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">It focuses on<strong>study of the biotic degradation of terrestrial OM (MOPT) discharged by rivers into the sea<\/strong>. Until recently, this MOPT was considered resistant to degradation, whereas in fact it undergoes intense biotic and abiotic degradation in estuaries.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h4 class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"color:#E6E6FA;\"><strong>Main results obtained<\/strong><\/span><\/h4><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><ul><li class=\"rtejustify\">Degradation of MOPT favoured at high salinity (change in the structure of bacterial communities \u2192 selection of bacteria that degrade MOPT more effectively).<\/li><li class=\"rtejustify\">Degradation of MOPT accelerated in the presence of potamoplankton (priming effect) (assimilation of recalcitrant substrates (MOPT) favoured in the presence of easily assimilable co-substrates (freshwater diatoms)).<\/li><li class=\"rtejustify\">In situ confirmation (evidence of a priming effect induced by marine diatoms).<\/li><li class=\"rtejustify\">DNA\/RNA isotope labelling of communities adapted to the degradation of marine MOPT\/MO is currently being carried out (DNA - SIP) in order to identify the bacteria involved in the degradation of MOPT.<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h4 class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"color:#E6E6FA;\"><strong>Publications<\/strong><\/span><\/h4><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><ul><li class=\"rtejustify\">M2 internship report by M-H.
