The Interreg Marittimo SPLASH&Co project is taking place in partnership with theUniversity of Genoa<\/strong> <\/a>(UNIGE) and theEuropean Research Institute<\/strong><\/a> (ERI).<\/p>

SPLASH&Co<\/strong> aims to understand theCOVID's impact on nature<\/strong> and quantities of micro-plastics<\/strong> (MPs) found at sea. One of the areas of research at the MIO laboratory is the distribution of PMs within the water column. To do this, we will shortly be installing a device that will allow us to sample only the surface micro-layer.<\/p>

The results will enable us to better estimate the dynamics of microplastics in coastal waters, and also to better assess atmospheric inputs.<\/p>
