\u00a0The University of Toulon and the Masuku University of Science and Technology (USTM - Gabon) have signed a new international cooperation framework agreement designed to strengthen their academic and scientific exchanges. This alliance comes at a time when collaboration between researchers from the two institutions has been on the increase for several years.<\/p>

The signing of this agreement is a continuation of the collaboration begun in 2022 on the JEAI PRO2GMA<\/em>.<\/p>

Its aim is to analyse the biogeochemical state of the sediments in the Ogoou\u00e9, Gabon's major river and the backbone of the country. Carried out over three years, this ambitious scientific programme aims to analyse a continuum of 890 km, from the source of the river to the delta at Port-Gentil, representing 220,000 km\u00b2 of catchment area.<\/p>

Under the coordination of St\u00e9phane Mounier, geochemist at the MIO laboratory (UTLN) and lecturer at the UFR Sciences et Techniques, three sampling and analysis missions have already been carried out in the field, in close collaboration with the USTM.<\/p>
