It was created to honour the memory of C\u00e9dric GARNIER and the values he embodied: excellence, scientific rigour, for the development of innovative, original or remarkable scientific research in oceanography.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">A research professor at the University of Toulon's Mediterranean Institute of Oceanology (MIO), specialising in environmental analytical chemistry, C\u00e9dric GARNIER combined high scientific standards, experimental rigour, generosity and great humanity. This prize rewards a young researcher at the MIO for his work, which combines scientific quality, multidisciplinarity and C\u00e9dric's human values.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">1. Terms and conditions of participation<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">Be under 40 years of age on the date the application is submitted.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">The outstanding results taken into consideration for the C\u00e9dric GARNIER Prize for Excellence must have been achieved at the MIO and published within the last two years, with the MIO as affiliation.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">In addition to scientific excellence, the Executive Committee will pay particular attention to the applicant's integration and commitment to the MIO collective, interdisciplinarity and inter-team cooperation.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">The deadline for applications is 2 May.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">2. How the prize works<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">The applications will be examined by two Executive Committee rapporteurs. At a plenary meeting, the Executive Committee will select the winner.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">3. Endowment<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">The winner of the C\u00e9dric GARNIER Excellence Award will receive the equivalent of \u20ac2,000, a certificate and will present his or her work at the award ceremony to be held at the MIO annual meeting on 21\/05.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">4.
