Marc Tedetti then presented his recent work in a 30-minute talk.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">The whole MIO congratulates him and thanks him for his contribution to the laboratory.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/ancien-site\/images\/binome6_portraits.jpg\" style=\"width: 361px; height: 504px;\" width=\"361\" height=\"504\"><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">Presentation of the winner :<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">Marc Tedetti, an IRD researcher at the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanology (MIO), is a \"biogeochemical\" oceanographer. He is interested in the dynamics of hydrocarbons in the marine environment. He is currently on assignment in Tunisia, at the Centre de Biotechnologie de Sfax (CBS) as part of the IRD's COSYS-Med joint international laboratory (LMI), which is dedicated to studying the impact of anthropogenic pressures on southern Mediterranean marine ecosystems. With its Tunisian partners, it is attempting 1) to assess the concentration levels of hydrocarbons in different environmental 'matrices' (water, sediments, air), 2) to identify the main pathways by which these hydrocarbons enter the coastal environment (wadis, effluents, atmospheric deposits, maritime activities, etc.), and 3) to understand the processes that these compounds undergo once they reach the sea (degradation by bacteria, accumulation in trophic chains, deposition in sediments, photodegradation, etc.).
