From large\, quasi-steady currents spanning hundreds of kilometers to mesoscale\, submesoscale\, and small-scale turbulence at just a few meters\, these processes strongly influence the basin’s biogeochemistry\, productivity\, and overall health. \nWith climate change amplifying existing pressures—such as intense maritime traffic\, overfishing\, mass tourism\, pollution\, biodiversity loss\, and habitat degradation—understanding these multiscale interactions has never been more critical.
