SUMMARY:Congrès One Ocean Science
DESCRIPTION:L’océan est menacé par des pressions combinées telles que le changement climatique\, la surpêche\, la pollution et les conflits d’utilisation. L’océan a besoin de toute urgence d’efforts décisifs\, rapides et unifiés pour faire face à sa situation critique et maximiser les solutions qu’il offre. Il s’agit là d’un défi majeur pour la communauté mondiale lors de la troisième conférence des Nations unies sur les océans (UNOC3)\, qui se tiendra à Nice du 9 au 13 juin 2025. L’objectif est de stimuler l’action et de mettre en œuvre l’ODD 14\, qui est le moins financé de tous les objectifs de développement durable.\nUn événement spécial UNOC3 dédié à la science \nLe CNRS et l’IFREMER ont été chargés d’organiser le One Ocean Science Congress (OOSC)\, un événement spécial de l’UNOC3 consacré à la science\, et de fournir aux chefs d’État et de gouvernement\, ainsi qu’à la société dans son ensemble\, des informations scientifiques complètes sur la santé de l’océan et sa trajectoire future. Les décisions fondées sur la science devraient permettre la conservation et l’utilisation durable de l’océan\, optimiser les solutions qu’il offre et sauvegarder les services et les avantages qu’il procure à l’humanité. \nLe congrès comprendra une combinaison de séances plénières\, y compris des discours d’ouverture et des discours principaux\, ainsi que des présentations orales et des affiches en parallèle. SUMMARY:16th International Symposium on the Interactions between Sediments and Water IASWS 2025
DESCRIPTION:The International Association for Sediment Water Science (IASWS) is a network of scientists interested in sediments and their interactions with water and biota in aquatic systems. \nThe association brings together scientists from various disciplines like earth scientists\, biologists\, chemists and environmental engineers whose interests pertain to sediment-water interactions in all aquatic systems. \nA major feature on the IASWS calendar is the tri-annual International Symposium On The Interactions Between Sediments and Water\, with the next symposium to be held from 30 June to 4th July 2025 at Le Touquet\, France. \nAfter the previous meetings\, discussions between participants and board members convinced us of the relevance of combining the ‘traditional’ IASWS tri-annual meeting (talks & poster sessions) with an international Summer School\, dedicated to young researchers (mainly PhD and graduate students\, Post-Doc\, junior scientists)\, whose objective would be to acquire some additional or complementary\, background\, and practical skills in this field of sediment-water interactions. \nThe international Sediment-Water Interactions Summer School will be held from 23 to 27 June 2025\, just the week before the 16th IASWS meeting. The number of attendees will be limited to 30 people\, and a priority will be given for joint attendance for the Summer School + 16th IASWS symposium. At the end of the Summer School\, a bus transfer to Le Touquet (about 45 minutes/ 40km South\, where the 16th IASWS symposium takes place) is included. \nDeadline for Abstract Submission & Application for the Summer School (see specific Section) : April 07th\, 2025 \n \nMore Information
