SUMMARY:Summer School - Population Balance: From Fundamental to Applied Science
DESCRIPTION:This summer school is part of the POPULATE thematic semester\, dedicated to population dynamics. As one of the three flagship events of the program\, it aims to provide modern insights into key concepts related to population dynamics. Topics will cover a wide range of applications\, including plants\, insects\, birds\, fish\, crowd dynamics\, traffic flows\, viruses\, bubbles\, and nanoparticles. \nRegistrations are open from September 1\, 2024\, to March 1\, 2025. \nSupported by the Complex Systems Academy of Université Côte d’Azur\, this summer school\, titled Population Balance: From Fundamental to Applied Science\, will feature morning sessions with mini-courses taught by experts from fields such as mathematics\, physics\, biology\, engineering\, and chemistry. The number of attendees will be limited to 30 people\, and a priority will be given for joint attendance for the Summer School + 16th IASWS symposium. SUMMARY:Troisième École d'été internationale de l'OHP - The frontiers of life
DESCRIPTION:La troisième École d’été internationale de l’OHP (Observatoire de Haute-Provence)\, organisée par l’Institut des Origines de l’Université d’Aix-Marseille\, explorera la notion de vie\, de sa définition aux conditions de son émergence\, sa diversité et son évolution. Ces questions fondamentales seront abordées à travers des conférences données par des experts de renommée internationale en chimie prébiotique\, microbiologie\, exobiologie\, planétologie\, astrophysique\, ainsi qu’en philosophie et en droit. Ces conférences seront suivies de tables rondes animées par un journaliste scientifique primé\, ainsi que de nombreux temps libres pour favoriser des échanges entre les participants. \nLe programme offrira une vision large et interdisciplinaire des frontières de la vie\, en passant en revue les connaissances actuelles et les théories concurrentes\, et en couvrant toutes les échelles spatiales et temporelles. \nEn plus de stimuler une réflexion individuelle sur la définition de la vie\, cette école d’été vise également à attirer de jeunes scientifiques vers ce domaine de recherche aux multiples facettes. \nFin des inscriptions : 31 mai 2025\n\n \nEn savoir plus
