SUMMARY:BRIDGES Ocean Talks Scientific Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, Jun 9\, 2026\, at 1:00 PM (UTC+4) \nTopic : BRIDGES Data Catalog: An interdisciplinary digital environment on coastal and marine social-ecological systems in the southwestern Indian Ocean \nSign up here to receive the connection link Or watch the replay on the Bridges YouTube page \nSpeaker : Julie Furiga\, Research Engineer at the CNRS\, within the Data Terra Research Institute and the Bridges information targeted project. \n \nAbstract\nHow can acquired and new knowledge be promoted and disseminated more effectively ? \nHow can data-sharing for knowledge and action purposes be organised more effectively ? \nHow can it be ensured that Bridges stakeholders actually appropriate the data and services? These are the questions that Bridges information seeks to address\, and it is within this framework that the development of the data catalogue takes place. \nBridges information‘s objective is to construct an information system that brings together existing data and digital resources that are useful for the study of the socio-ecosystems of the South-West Indian Ocean (SWIO). This will then act as a data and knowledge base for other targeted Bridges-linked projects and also for the broader scientific community. \nEffective research data management should\, among other things\, accelerate scientific discoveries and innovations\, encourage scientific and interdisciplinary collaboration\, promote data reuse\, ensure the integrity and reproducibility of research\, and enable open access to data — opening up new fields of analysis. \nBy identifying\, planning\, and leveraging all available data on fisheries and marine biodiversity socio-ecosystems in the SWIO\, and more specifically around sites of interest\, BRIDGES INFORMATION seeks to ensure that everyone benefits from collective resources and contributes to making results available in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable\, Accessible\, Interoperable\, Reusable). \nDuring this webinar\, we will present the BRIDGES data catalogue as it stands today: the principles behind its construction\, the data currently accessible\, and its future developments. \nLearn more about the information system : An information system to better understand and manage marine social-ecological systems in the southwest Indian Ocean. \n \nMore information
