L&#8217;Antarctique occupe une place particuli\u00e8re car cet oc\u00e9an polaire est le si\u00e8ge d&#8217;une p\u00e9n\u00e9tration intense du CO2 li\u00e9e aux basses temp\u00e9ratures de ses eaux.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">Dans ce contexte, MOBYDICK a pour objectif d\u2019\u00e9tudier les liens qui existent entre la pompe biologique du carbone et la structure du r\u00e9seau trophique en Antarctique. Pour r\u00e9soudre ce probl\u00e8me, MOBYDICK propose une nouvelle approche en consid\u00e9rant l&#8217;ensemble du r\u00e9seau trophique, des microbes aux pr\u00e9dateurs sup\u00e9rieurs, et en explorant les relations jusqu&#8217;ici mal \u00e9tudi\u00e9es entre les flux biog\u00e9ochimiques (CO2 notamment) et la biodiversit\u00e9 p\u00e9lagique. L&#8217;ensemble de donn\u00e9es requis pour tester les hypoth\u00e8ses propos\u00e9es dans MOBYDICK a \u00e9t\u00e9 acquis lors d&#8217;une campagne oc\u00e9anographique qui s&#8217;est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e au large des \u00eeles Kerguelen en f\u00e9vrier-mars 2018.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">Dans cette zone bien document\u00e9e, deux \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes contrast\u00e9s \u00abBasse biomasse faible exportation\u00bb et \u00abHaute biomasse faible exportation\u00bb coexistent. MOBYDICK a r\u00e9uni un consortium international pour mettre au point un large \u00e9ventail de techniques de d\u00e9termination des stocks, des flux et de la biodiversit\u00e9, qui sont rarement utilis\u00e9es simultan\u00e9ment. Les r\u00e9sultats constitueront un premier jalon pour une connaissance fondamentale des processus importants; ils fourniront \u00e9galement des informations essentielles pour la gestion durable de ces \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes vuln\u00e9rables dans le contexte du changement climatique en cours.<\/p>            <\/div>                  <\/div>                <div class=\"item image-wrapper\" style=\"background-image: url(https:\/\/www.mio.osupytheas.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/ancien-site\/styles\/800x600\/public\/images\/paragraphs\/img_9720-marine_0.jpg?itok=M0JmEihd);\">        <\/div>      <\/div>    <\/div>  <\/div><\/section><\/div><div class=\"field-item odd\"><section class=\"paragraph-section paragraph-texte-image paragraph-bleu texte-en-premier\">  <div class=\"container-fluid\">    <div class=\"row\">      <div class=\"flex-wrapper\">        <div class=\"item texte-wrapper\">                                          <div class=\"paragraph-content\">              <p class=\"rtejustify\">Pendant MOBYDICK, nous avons d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois un &#8220;bottlenet&#8221; en mer. Ce dispositif est un filet \u00e0 plancton de 20 \u00b5m ins\u00e9r\u00e9 dans une bouteille Niskin qui permet de filtrer et de concentrer un tr\u00e8s grand volume d&#8217;eau dans l&#8217;oc\u00e9an profond pour \u00e9tudier la nature des particules pr\u00e9sentes en profondeur.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">De fa\u00e7on surprenante, les particules observ\u00e9es dans les eaux profondes \u00e0 la fin de la saison estivale avec cet appareil \u00e9taient largement domin\u00e9es par des cellules de diatom\u00e9es en relativement bon \u00e9tat, pleines ou vides, et par des d\u00e9bris de frustules ainsi que de spores de repos. Les pelotes f\u00e9cales et autres aggr\u00e9gats \u00e9taient faiblement abondants, et domin\u00e9s par des mini-pelotes (de 30 \u00b5m environ) produites par un broutage actif de plusieurs esp\u00e8ces de Phaeodaires (zooplancton du groupe Rhizaria) sur les diatom\u00e9es.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">Des mesures chimiques, microscopiques et de s\u00e9quen\u00e7age sont en cours d&#8217;analyse pour chaque \u00e9chantillon de bottlenet et seront compar\u00e9es aux communaut\u00e9s planctoniques de surface \u00e9chantillonn\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce au filet \u00e0 plancton classique
