Nenes<\/a>)<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\"><span style=\"color:#000080;\"><strong>FIRETRAC<\/strong><\/span> main aim is to shed light on <strong>B<\/strong>urning <strong>B<\/strong>iomass (<strong>BB<\/strong>) and wildfire\u2212produced atmospheric particles dynamics in marine waters and establish their link with the marine <strong>B<\/strong>iological <strong>C<\/strong>arbon <strong>P<\/strong>ump (<strong>BCP<\/strong>). Such information will give a very strong evidence if BB associated molecules (BB tracers such as anhydrosugars and polyaromatic hydrocarbons or PAHs) have the potential to be rapidly mineralized, and thus re-injected to C\u2013cycle as CO<sub>2<\/sub>, or stored for several thousands of years in the dissolved organic matter (DOM) pool\/or marine sediments. To do so <span style=\"color:#000080;\"><strong>FIRETRAC<\/strong><\/span> project is declined in three main objectives:<\/p><ul><li class=\"rtejustify\"><u><strong><em>Objective 1 <\/em>:<\/strong><\/u> To monitor anhydrosugar and PAH concentrations monitoring over a 2\u2212year period in 3 specific offshore coastal sites in the North Western Mediterranean Sea (NW Med.
