La campagne oc\u00e9anographique c\u00f4ti\u00e8re PLUME (Particle transport along river pLUmes and their iMpact on coastal ecosystems off viEtnam), soutenue par l\u2019IRD et l’Acad\u00e9mie des sciences et Technologies du Vietnam-VAST (lettre d’intention de coop\u00e9ration sign\u00e9e par les parties le 27 mai), doit avoir lieu pendant deux mois, \u00e0 partir de juin 2021.<\/p>

Les unit\u00e9s fran\u00e7aises impliqu\u00e9es sont le MIO, le LEGOS (Toulouse), le LOG (Wimereux), et le LA (Toulouse). Un groupe de travail franco-vietnamien sera mis en place en septembre 2019 afin de pr\u00e9parer les dossiers scientifiques pour f\u00e9vrier 2020.<\/p>

Ceux d\u2019entre vous qui seraient int\u00e9ress\u00e9s par cette campagne, et donc qui souhaiteraient contribuer \u00e0 la pr\u00e9paration des dossiers scientifiques \u00e0 partir du mois de septembre peuvent contacter Mar Benavides et Xavier Mari.<\/p>

R\u00e9sum\u00e9 de la fiche d\u2019intention soumise \u00e0 l\u2019appel \u00e0 manifestation d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat (AMI) par Mar Benavides (MIO) et Sylvain Ouillon (LEGOS)<\/p>

Particulate transport of plumes of natural (sediments) and anthropogenic particulate matter (which includes the two major classes of anthropogenic carbonaceous particles, microplastics and black carbon) from the Mekong and Red River deltas to the ocean, and impact on plankton productivity (PP and BP) and community structure. This last point includes nitrogen fixation. Particulate inputs will be studied in the fluvial \/ marine and atmospheric compartments. Arguments:<\/p>

– River plumes as transition zones, influence on coastal ecosystems and transition to the open ocean;<\/p>

– Atmospheric plumes as sources of particulate aerosols for the marine system, influence planktonic productivity in coastal areas;<\/p>

– Fragile coastal ecosystems highly impacted by anthropogenic pressure (river sediment discharge altered by dam construction, black carbon riverine discharge and atmospheric deposition);<\/p>

– Interest to understand the fate of river plumes into the sea at the physical and biogeochemical level, the transformation of suspended aggregates within the plume in a salinity gradient;<\/p>

– Provide data series for calibration\/validation of numerical models and comparison between surface currents from VHF radars and depth-profiles of surface currents measured by a towed ADCP;<\/p>

– Cruise supported by several projects\/networks (GDRI SOOT-SEA, JEAI microplastiques, LMI LOTUS, projects\u2026).<\/p>

To date, the main objectives are: (1) to document the plume configuration and hydrodynamics, and the fate of transported material from the river mouth to the open ocean, (2) to document the plume of aerosols along the Vietnam coast.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
