Submit a session proposal for the UArctic Congress 2026 !
The deadline for submissions is July 7, 2025. The UArctic Congress 2026 will take place in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands from May 26 to 29, 2026.
The 2026 Congress themes are aligned with the Kingdom of Denmark’s priorities for its Arctic Council chairship program. As a unique feature, the event will also incorporate the Ocean Conference, scheduled to be held in the Faroe Islands in 2026, with the aim of enhancing collaboration in marine science.
We invite session proposals that align with the Congress themes :
For full theme descriptions and a list of sub-themes, please read the full call for session proposals. Session proposals that do not directly match a listed theme may be submitted under the category “Other”, provided their relevance is clearly explained.
We especially encourage sessions that include the participation of Indigenous peoples, youth, and local communities, and that apply transdisciplinary approaches to research and dialogue. Sessions can include oral and/or poster presentations, panel discussions, and roundtable dialogues. The official language of the Congress is English.
Read the full call and start preparing your session proposals.
Note that we only accept proposals submitted via the form – the form link will be available on the call page soon.
If you have any questions, please contact congress.sessions@uarctic.org.
We look forward to seeing you all in the Faroe Islands in May 2026!
The UArctic Congress 2026 is hosted by the University of the Faroe Islands in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade, and the Faroe Marine Research Institute.
