UNESCO Green Citizens is launching The ENCOUNTERS, a new series of interactive online events designed in response to the needs of local project leaders. Building on our climate action network, these encounters bring together local actors and global experts to foster collaboration and share knowledge.
We aim to connect scientists and experts with changemakers, NGOs, associations, and project leaders to exchange ideas and best practices that strengthen climate action at the local level. Local actors are the drivers of real change!
Our first ENCOUNTER will focus on local projects tackling river and ocean plastic pollution from collection to recycling and beyond. Every year, up to 23 million tonnes of plastic pollute our waters. Local action is essential. This event is the opportunity to connect, learn, and contribute to the solution.
What’s on the agenda?
Whether you’re part of a grassroots project, a youth movement, a research team, or an organization, your voice matters! Let’s build a global movement for cleaner waters and a more sustainable future.
