Calls for projects for national 2026 programmes led by the INSU

Calls for projects for the CNRS-INSU 2026 national programmes are open from 1st Junewith a deadline of 5 September 2025.

This new edition is enriched by a programme dedicated to the Universe and digital sciences (PN SUN) and more flexible access to the innovative instrumentation programme (PN IIT).

In order to facilitate the gathering of researchers around major priority objectives, the INSU leads programmes. Co-financed by numerous partners, these programmes cover the major compartments of the Earth system and the Universe.

CNRS-INSU is opening its 2026 calls for projects for national programmes, which are fundamental tools for research, community structuring, transdisciplinarity and implementing the recommendations of scientific foresight.

The programmes are structured around four main scientific areas:

  • Astronomy-Astrophysics (PN ASTRO)
  • Ocean-Atmosphere (PN LEFE)
  • Surfaces and Continental Interfaces (PN EC2CO)
  • Solid Earth (PN TelluS)

A number of cross-functional programmes have been set up to encourage innovative approaches:

  • National Planetology Programme (PNP)
  • National Spatial Remote Sensing Programme (PNTS)
  • National Innovative and Transverse Instrumentation Programme (PN IIT) - more flexible access conditions for 2026
  • National Programme for the Sciences of the Universe and the Numerical Sciences (PN SUN) - (in French) NEW for 2026
  • Origins PEPR support programme

It should be noted that for this 2026 campaign, the conditions of access to the National Programme for Innovative and Transverse Instrumentation (PN IIT) have been simplified, opening the way to wider participation by the community.

Applications can be submitted online via SIGAP before the submission deadline.
