OSU Pythéas, Bleu Tomate & Brasserie Zoumaï are organising the 1st October next 19h00 a blue crab science bar!
The blue crab is one of the worst invasive species in the Mediterranean, impacting biodiversity and small-scale fishing. This species is therefore a priority in measures to preserve lagoon biodiversity. This voracious blue predator is also a highly prized resource in its native range. What if, in the Mediterranean, eating blue crab was a way of regulating populations and preserving biodiversity?
Our speakers for the evening:
- Guillaume Marchessaux, IRD Research Fellow at the MIO,
- Marina Chiappi, Doctoral student at the CNR in Ancona,
- Julie Duley, Blue crab and seagrass research officer, GIPREB,
- Matteo Penza, Artist designer.
