The aim of this programme is to encourage academic research players to create structured partnerships through the co-construction of " Joint laboratories »A joint laboratory is a "partnership" between an SME or ETI and a research organisation laboratory. A Joint Laboratory is defined by the signing of a contract defining its operation, and in particular :

  • common governance,
  • a research and innovation roadmap,
  • the means to work together on the roadmap,
  • a strategy designed to ensure that the company makes the most of its partnership work.

A simple and effective system

  • Applications examined on an ongoing basis
  • Selection by a steering committee
  • Flat-rate funding of €363k over 54 months for the public research laboratory

The application form

  • Bilateral partnership: a research organisation and an SME, ETI or Start-up
  • A commitment to sign a joint laboratory contract defining :
    • A roadmap for research and innovation
    • A programme lasting at least 54 months, not limited to pre-defined objectives
    • A strategy for joint development and governance
    • A strategy for long-term collaboration beyond ANR support

A two-stage process

  1. Assembly phase
    • Maximum desired duration: 6 months as defined in the proposal
    • ANR validation of the joint laboratory contract
  2. Operating phase
    • Time remaining to T0 + 54 months
