I am pleased to present you with the first annual, non-exhaustive overview of the scientific culture activities carried out by Aix-Marseille University, its laboratories and its staff, in collaboration with its partners, research bodies and cultural players.
From large-scale events and workshops for schoolchildren to the production of digital tools and training courses for young and old alike, the wealth and variety of activities carried out by the University in 2018 helped to bring all the sciences closer to society.
At a time when scientific facts are being called into question and major social and environmental upheavals are taking place, higher education and research must be a visible bulwark for the public.
I hope that this overview will inspire you to take part in future initiatives to promote research and science.
