As a follow-up to the first consultation meeting between the IRD representation in Morocco and the MASciR foundation in June 2019, the MIO has delegated Yannick Combet-Blanc, a microbiologist in the MEB ( Microbiologie Environnementale Biotechnologie) team, to carry out a mission designed to explore potential avenues for partnership.
Meetings with the teams and visits to the platforms have made it possible to assess the respective scientific and technical potential and to identify the main areas of convergence and complementarity.
The prospects for collaboration that have been identified, particularly in the fields of microbiology, biotechnology and applied research and development, suggest that joint scientific projects could be set up. A number of initiatives will be undertaken in the very near future as part of a forthcoming visit by MASciR to the MIO in Marseille.
