CARE calls on research establishments to mobilise to overcome the crisis

The Minister for Higher Education, Research and Innovation is launching an appeal to mobilise all the goodwill, ideas and initiatives that can contribute in the short term to improving the situation and overcoming the health crisis facing our country.

The COVID-19 Comité d'analyse recherche expertise (CARE), which has just been set up by the President of the Republic, is tasked with :

Identify all the short-term proposals (scientific, therapeutic, technological, etc.) that could help tackle the situation;
Enable the deployment of relevant proposals and anticipate any needs for scaling up;
identify the bottlenecks preventing the deployment of priority projects and find solutions;
mobilise the strengths of research establishments on priority subjects, identify useful interactions between several proposals to make actions faster and more effective;
identify the subjects on which research is essential.

CARE is not interested in medium- or long-term research projects, but in ideas, actions and innovations in all areas that can have a rapid impact on the situation and that the proposers are capable of carrying out, at least in their initial phase, with the resources at their disposal.
The CARE will meet every week to examine the proposals submitted to it.
