The LEGOLAS campaign has just ended

It was held in the MIO-SEATECH CASH wave channel at the University of Toulon. The aim was to study the transformation of swell on complex bottoms, to represent what happens in nature on rocks, coral reefs or artificial riprap.
The experiments were carried out on a linear beach with different irregular swell conditions, enabling the effects of the bottom in shoaling, surfing and swash zones to be analysed.
31 wave probes and 2 acoustic Doppler current meters were deployed to measure the evolution of the free surface in space and time and the current profile in the shoaling zone.
The campaign was led by Solène Déalbéra, a PhD student at SIAME (UPPA), supervised by Damien Sous (MIO), and assisted by a host of participants: Héloise Michaud (SHOM), Samuel Meulé (CEREGE), Rémi Chemin and Aimed Ajroud (MIO-UTLN) and Fred Bouchette (Géosciences Montpellier) and his many students! So a big thank you for your sweaty hands after hours spent assembling and dismantling the structures!
