This prize for excellence is awarded every year for the 3rd time by the Institut Méditerranéen d'Océanologie (MIO) in memory of Cédric GARNIER, a lecturer and researcher at the University of Toulon, who was instrumental in bringing together researchers from Toulon and Marseille and was deputy director of the MIO, a specialist in environmental analytical chemistry who passed away in 2018. Cédric GARNIER combined high scientific standards, experimental rigour, generosity and great humanity.
This prize is awarded to the best application from doctoral students, post-doctoral students, permanent or non-permanent researchers and research engineers under the age of 40. The assessment criteria include the quality and output of the scientific work, interdisciplinarity and inter-team working, as well as investment in the MIO community.
Applications will be examined by the laboratory's Executive Committee in mid-July. The winner of the Cédric GARNIER Excellence Award will receive the equivalent of €2,000, a certificate and will present his or her work at the award ceremony, which will take place in September.
