The VVP is getting bolder, JULIO is doing well and "C'est Toujours pas Sorcier" is filming.

The "C'est toujours pas sorcier" (CTPS) team of cameramen and stage manager boarded the Antédon II on Tuesday 31 August for the JULIO-VVP-test mission (31 August to 3 Sept 2021).

As well as the crew of Patrick, Arnaud and Enzo, the mission also included Stéphanie Barrillon, Caroline Comby, Margaux Dufosse, Jean-Luc Fuda, Roxane Tzortzis and Anne Petrenko, who was interviewed by CTPS about ocean currents for a programme to be broadcast in December.

In terms of science, the VVP has become bolder, descending to a depth of 80 metres with its propeller. It was also tested in shallow waters, with a programmed depth deeper than the bathymetry: after having - voluntarily - touched the bottom, it was able to adapt and go back up, collecting the data correctly. Well done to the team!

What's more, JULIO has been successfully surveyed and returned to the water; a fine time series since 7 December 2020 is ready for analysis.

Thanks to the crew of the Antédon, all the SAM staff and the rest of the JULIO and VVP-test participants for their help with these two projects.
