The Water JPI joint programming initiative and the BiodivERsA network will shortly be launching a call for research projects on the theme of Conservation and restoration of degraded ecosystems and their biodiversitywith a focus on aquatic ecosystems. The call for proposals will be launched on 5 October 2020and the deadline for submitting pre-proposals is 7 December 2020.
The joint call " BiodivRestore "will support the following three themes:
- The study of the biological and biophysical processes involved in conservation/restoration, and their interactions;
- Assessing the synergies and trade-offs between conservation and restoration objectives, benefits and policies;
- The development of knowledge to improve the effectiveness and wider deployment of conservation and restoration actions.
Priority will be given to freshwater aquatic systems, but all environments (terrestrial, freshwater and marine) are eligible for the call.
