Against a backdrop of climate and demographic change, the PSF-Sud BIODIV is offering a number of bioinformatics workshops, notably on high-throughput sequencing and the exploration of microbial biodiversity for the energy transition (LMI BIOTEC H2), or in response to environmental and anthropogenic disturbances (LMI COSYS-Med).
Hana Ganoun, from the Institut Supérieur des Sciences Biologiques Appliquées de Tunis (ISSBAT), and Fabrice Armougom (MIO-MEB), are leading this training scheme, which aims to develop, strengthen and perpetuate bioinformatics skills in Tunisian higher education institutions and partner research teams. These workshops are aimed at a diverse audience: students, researchers, engineers and lecturers.
Objectives:
Why train in bioinformatics analysis? Bioinformatics is now a fundamental tool in the biological and environmental sciences, particularly in the identification of new pathogens and biomarkers, and in the exhaustive study of the taxonomic and functional biodiversity of marine ecosystems.
