Ecole bleu outre mer: 75 young people board the Marion Dufresne II for an unprecedented scientific adventure in the Indian Ocean

The ÉcoleBleuOutremer crew, including our two MIO colleagues Delphine Thibault and Frédéric Ménard, are heading for the north-east of Madagascar. First stop: Mont La Pérouse, an ancient island that is now completely submerged.
On board, the students meet, discover and observe! They've all heard of the Marion Dufresne of the French Southern and Antarctic Territories (TAAF), the mythical largest ship in the French oceanographic fleet, but for the first time in their lives, they're being plunged into her corridors and cabins. The deck is already buzzing with activity! As night falls, the technicians deploy a manta net to collect plastic microparticles, which are then studied on board.
