BiodivERsA, the European network promoting research on biodiversity, ecosystem services and nature-based solutions, and the JPI Water have just launched a new call for research projects on the theme: Conservation and restoration of degraded ecosystems and their biodiversity.
This joint call focuses on freshwater aquatic systems, but all environments (terrestrial, freshwater and marine) are eligible. It covers the following three non-exclusive themes:
Study the biological and biophysical processes involved in conservation/restoration and their interactions;
Assessing the trade-offs and synergies between conservation and restoration targets, benefits and policies;
Develop knowledge to improve the effectiveness and scalability of conservation and restoration actions.
31 organisations from 27 countries are taking part in this call for proposals and, together with the European Commission, have earmarked a total of more than €20 million. For France, the ANR is participating in the call with a budget of €2.1 million.
Pre-proposals must be submitted by 4pm on 7 December 2020.
