A major public debate, organised by the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP)takes place from 20 November 2023 at 26 April 2024 on French maritime planning.
Topics include the future of the sea, coastlines, marine biodiversity and offshore wind power.
Four simultaneous debates will be held on the following four seaboards: Eastern Channel - North Sea, North Atlantic - Western Channel, South Atlantic, Mediterranean.
A stopover for the debate will be held in Marseille from 5 to 19 December (free admission). MIO staff will be taking part.
with two highlights:
- the 14/12 from 5pm to 8.30pm at the World Trade Centre (Centre Bourse);
- the 15/12 from 7.30pm at Artplex Canebière (Réformés).
This debate is of crucial importance because it precedes key decisions in maritime and energy planning in 2024 and contributes to the updating of the façade strategic documents (DSF). Local versions of the National Strategy for the Sea and the Coast, the DSFs are a new key stage in planning at sea.
