Since it was founded in 1906, the Oceanographic Institute has supported the understanding and sustainable management of the ocean. In particular, it awards various scientific prizes, including the Thesis Prize, which rewards a young researcher for outstanding thesis work.
Each year, this thesis prize is awarded to a young researcher who has graduated from a French doctoral school, for his or her thesis work relating to the Ocean in all its dimensions, as well as for the publications resulting from his or her thesis. The thesis may be in any discipline and deal with the Ocean from a physical or biological angle, or with the relationship between Man and the Ocean.
The innovative nature of the thesis and its contribution to changing the approach to the subject will be particularly appreciated and assessed, in particular, by the level of publications already produced.
The winner will receive a prize of 3,000 euros. The prize will be presented at a prestigious ceremony in March 2022 at the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco.
We are pleased to invite you to nominate a candidate for 2022, from among the students for whom you are responsible, by 20 June.
