scientific publishing landscape: being the publisher of sustainability science in the South. If you are
would like to be part of a team working on the renewal of IRD publishing, to ensure the success of the IRD's publications, and to be a key member of the IRD's editorial team.

BACKGROUND
Among the hundred or so scientific publishers in France, Editions de l'IRD is the only one to
dedicated exclusively to development research in developing countries.
Editions de l'IRD is renewing its editorial strategy in order to position its publications more effectively.

to raise the profile of the interdisciplinary research carried out by the IRD and its partners.

This editorial strategy is broken down into several collections (described below) led by
Directors of collections .
Collection directors will work within an editorial board.

with the Institute's scientific strategy.
MISSION
The director of the collection is responsible for its dynamism and quality
scientific, through several types of action:
by mobilising its network to identify or encourage projects on

by ensuring the quality of manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Board;

Openness and commitment to interdisciplinarity and cross-disciplinarity
Active involvement in established scientific networks
Experience of reading committees, editorial boards and scientific coordination
of works
Availability for the assignment and possibility of active involvement
Entries will be selected on the basis of these criteria by the Editorial Board and validated by
IRD governance.

EDITORIAL STRATEGY
The IRD's editorial strategy is based on two main areas, according to two types of audience
targeted :
- academic and scientific audiences in the North and South (researchers,
teachers, students);
- audiences outside the scientific sphere in both the North and South (stakeholders in the
development, decision-makers, ministries, politicians, associations, fans of the subjects
science, etc.).
These two main themes are broken down into several collections which will include an approach to
interdisciplinary and as integrative as possible of the social and environmental dimensions.
1st major focus for an ESR2 audience: themed collections
Focusing on the research carried out by the IRD and its partners on the major challenges facing the
sustainable development and their progress.

Sustainable food systems New collection
The collection will deal with the challenges of food sustainability in the South and the problems of

Health, combining human health, animal health and the state of the environment, fundamental
to understand and prevent the emergence of pandemics. It will also include
books on developments in public health and global equity issues,
including access to medicines and vaccines.
2 ESR: Higher education and research.
Key words: One Health, public health, healthcare systems, stakeholders, healthcare policies,
health economics, health anthropology, nutrition, epidemiology, health biology,

Climate change New collection
This collection will deal with current climate change on different scales and will look at
its impacts with an integrated approach to its different dimensions: biophysical,
ecosystemic, political, economic and social. Through an interdisciplinary approach,
it will highlight past and current observations of change, the analysis of
climate hazards and extreme events, and forms of integrated risk management,
studying the impact and vulnerability of populations and ecosystems,
their modelling, the study of solutions and resilience capacities, an analysis of
climate policies, etc.

Inequalities and vulnerabilities New collection
This collection will document and examine the inequalities and vulnerabilities of our societies.
