10th conference of the Association Francophone d'Ecologie Microbienne (AFEM).

Its aim is threefold: firstly, to bring together researchers in microbial ecology, microbiology and ecological engineering who are interested in how ecosystems function; secondly, to examine how microbial communities evolve as a function of environmental pressures and context; and thirdly, to build cross-disciplinary links by exchanging concepts specific to each of the ecosystems in order to create multidisciplinary networks.

In order to keep our attention focused and ensure a good level of debate despite the distance format, we have chosen to organise the conference into 6 sessions spread over 6 half-days. Each session will begin in plenary with a keynote address and will continue with a series of talks. Each session will include a poster discussion. Throughout the week, a networking room where you can meet freely will be available 24 hours a day for 5 days for direct exchanges.

For the keynotes, we are delighted to welcome Jean-Luc Chotte (Eco&Sols, IRD, Montpellier), Nicolas Tromas (McGill, Montreal CA), Céline Brochier Armanet (LBBE, Lyon 1), Lionel Moulin (IPME Montpellier), Jean-Luc Bailly (LMGE, Univ. Clermont) and Alain Bergel (LGC, Toulouse).

The sessions promise to be just as exciting, with 28 presentations covering topics ranging from diversity, biotic interactions, exobiology and extreme environments to the impact of environmental disturbances, environmental pathogens and ecological engineering.

You will find the programme of sessions and practical information on this website.

We're counting on your participation on the day of 15 November and in the afternoons from 16 to 19 November, so that we can develop rich ideas in all the sessions, cross-fertilise knowledge and skills and, why not, initiate new collaborations!

We would like to thank the partners of this conference: Aix Marseille University, the IRD, the CNRS, the AMIDEX institutes (ITEM and IM2B) and the Conseil Départemental 13.
