iMPT 2026 call for projects

The iMPT Institut des Mathématiques pour la Planète Terre funds scientific collaborations involving at least one mathematician and one researcher from another discipline. One of the two partners must be a permanent staff member of a laboratory whose main supervisory body is one of the iMPT partners.

Themes

As in previous years, particular attention will be paid to projects involving the sociology, economics and geopolitics of the environment. This theme covers in particular, but not exclusively, studies on the exploitation and management of resources, mobility at different scales and the reorganisation of spaces due to climate change or human activities, the phenomena of resilience or deregulation of biological, physical, chemical or human systems in the face of the pressures generated by these activities, or the mechanisms of mitigation or adaptation in the face of environmental change.

However, the IMPT Scientific Council is keen to keep open the possibility of considering projects on other themes of high scientific and interdisciplinary value, and is also putting out a white call. Preference will be given to projects that are likely to launch new collaborations, as well as to those that are well justified in terms of the need for an immediate launch (link with a current data collection programme or with a particular event).
