Call for Competitiveness Structuring Projects specific to the health crisis COVID-19

The "PSPC" call for projects is a support scheme financed by the Programme d'Investissements d'Avenir (PIA), which aims to select research and development projects that will boost competitiveness.

Expected projects

France is going through an unprecedented health situation linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. Against this backdrop of urgency, the government has decided to launch a specific call for R&D projects. Taking into account the modelling of the dynamics of the virus, these projects will focus on the current epidemic, but will also make it possible to envisage possible recurrences.

This programme provides support for structuring collaborative research and development projects aimed at developing preventive or curative therapeutic solutions for COVID-19. Direct economic and technological spin-offs in the form of new products, services and technologies are expected. All therapeutic strategies are eligible (vaccine, antiviral, mixed, etc.) as well as all technologies (chemistry, biotechnology, artificial intelligence and exploitation of massive data or medical devices if relevant).

The expected projects have a programme value of between €4 million and €50 million.

Type of aid

State funding for projects may take the form of a combination of subsidies and repayable advances, and may include a profit-sharing scheme.

Calendar

The call for PSPC projects specific to the COVID-19 health crisis is open until 30 September 2020 (at noon), with statements made on an ongoing basis after discussion with Bpifrance.
