EIFFEL Scholarship application 2024-2025

The Eiffel scholarship programme is a tool developed by the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to help French higher education establishments attract the best foreign students for master's and doctoral degree courses.

(For the University of Toulon, the application must be completed online no later than Friday 8 December 2023)

The Eiffel scholarship programme has two components:
Masters section: the Eiffel scholarship is awarded for a period of :

12 months maximum for enrolment in a Master 2 programme
24 months maximum for enrolment in Master 1
36 months to prepare for an engineering degree

Doctorate: the Eiffel scholarship is awarded for a period of :

6, 12 or 18 months maximum for all applicants, whether they are already working on their thesis or are newcomers to France or abroad, in co-supervision or co-supervision. The 12- and 18-month grants can be split into stays of at least 6 months, subject to justification and a decision by the committee.
36 months, subject to enrolment in the 1st year of the thesis only. Please note that the number of 36-month grants will be limited.

Conditions of eligibility

Academic excellence is paramount
Consistency of academic and professional project highlighted.
Reserved for candidates of foreign nationality. Candidates with dual nationality, one of whom is French, are not eligible.
Students already receiving a French government grant under another programme at the time of application are not eligible.
The application of a student whose application has not been accepted at a previous selection is not admissible.

Master :

Students of foreign nationality aged 25 or under (born after 31 March 1998) studying for a Master's degree or an engineering degree in the following fields:

Science and technology: Biology and health, Ecological transition, Mathematics and digital technology, Engineering sciences
Humanities and social sciences: History, French language and civilisation, Law, Political science, Economics and management

Please note that students already in France are not eligible for this grant.

Doctorate section :

PhD students of foreign nationality aged 30 or under (born after 31 March 1993) for a co-supervised or co-directed thesis in the following fields:

Science and technology: Biology and health, Ecological transition, Mathematics and digital technology, Engineering sciences
Humanities and social sciences: History, French language and civilisation, Law, Political science, Economics and management
