A conference Discovering the deep sea with BathyBot, the CNRS underwater robot will take place on Friday 8 April 2022 à 14h30 at the indoor theatre Châteauvallon-Liberté, national stage.
Speaker Fanny Karatchodjoukova, scientific mediator for the Bathybot cruise project
It will be the eyes of researchers for around ten years at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea, at a depth of 2,400 metres. BathyBot is an underwater robot that is particularly interested in bioluminescence phenomena. It will attempt to understand the origin and role of this luminous activity in the darkness of the deep.
BathyBot will also help researchers to study biodiversity and the carbon cycle.
Its presence in the Mediterranean will make it possible to broadcast beautiful images of the seabed to the whole world, in the hope of raising awareness and preserving this little-known universe.
We invite you to discover the fascinating science and technology behind this project!
