As a PhD student in environmental microbiology, I'm working on the micro-organisms that metabolise natural hydrogen (H2) in hydrothermal springs with different geochemical properties. This involves a cultural approach via anaerobic cultures in selective media using environmental samples, followed by a genomic approach via metabarcoding targeting the gene coding for 16S rRNA.
This thesis is supervised by Marianne Quéméneur and Anne Postec.
