Identifying bottlenecks as pivots in the ocean circulation transport system

An international scientific team, including our colleague Vincent Rossi, has just developed a new method for analysing fluid flows in the ocean based on network theory. This method highlights the existence of bottlenecks in oceanic circulation and therefore provides a better understanding of the transport of water masses and the dispersion of the organisms that live there, particularly plankton.
