On 18 March, I informed you that all national courses that had to be classroom-based could no longer take place in the host organisations.
Following the survey carried out by the Laboratory Directors' Committee on Thursday 26 March, I would like to give you the general framework of our policy for hosting work placements within our institution.
Since the closure of all our campuses, the research laboratories have been inaccessible. However, our aim is to maintain educational continuity as far as possible during our work placements.
Working remotely is the rule. All trainees who are able to do so must carry out their training remotely until further notice. The primary aim is to effectively combat the spread of the coronavirus by limiting physical contact. Therefore, in consultation with the trainee, the director of the host research unit and the director of the component, it is up to the tutor to organise the content of the placement accordingly and to give preference to suspending or postponing the placement rather than interrupting it.
Any change in the conditions of the placement (distance work, change in the duration of the placement, suspension or postponement) requires a rider to be drawn up to the placement agreement. This amendment must be drawn up and signed electronically by the trainee, the placement tutor, the director of the host research unit and the director of the component.
The Research and Projects Department (DIREP), in conjunction with the internship tutor, will provide support in preparing the amendments.
In the event of the placement being interrupted by termination of the agreement, the teacher tutor will have to consider the appropriate teaching arrangements, in consultation with the trainee, the director of the host research unit and the director of the component.
In the case of trainees from other establishments coming to the University of Toulon, the instructions given by the establishment of origin must be applied in accordance with the procedures set up by the University of Toulon.
Bonus :
If the internship activities are carried out via distance working, the internship bonus is maintained in accordance with the conditions set out in the agreement.
If the placement activities are suspended or postponed, payment of the placement fee is suspended. If the placement is resumed, the payment of the bonus will be resumed in accordance with the conditions set out in the agreement. In the meantime, in consultation with the trainee, the director of the host research unit and the director of the component, it is up to the teacher tutor to propose, as far as possible, an alternative solution which will be studied by the governing body.
If the internship activities are interrupted, the payment of the internship bonus ends with the termination of the agreement. The consequences of this interruption for the trainee may be the subject of a specific request for assistance from the university's student welfare service.
