IRD: Frédéric Ménard appointed Scientific Adviser for Overseas France

Frédéric Ménard is an IRD research director at the Mediterranean Institute of Oceanography in Marseille (UMR MIO). His research focuses on the functioning of tropical marine ecosystems in the context of global change: food webs, fishing and biodiversity; large pelagic predatory fish and the vulnerability of coastal ecosystems.
He is a member of several scientific boards and committees.
Frédéric Ménard was director of the IRD's OCEANS department from 2015 to 2020.

As scientific adviser to the governance, he contributes to the Institute's scientific strategy for overseas France, particularly in relation to the Government's Overseas France 5.0 Trajectory.
