Mediterranean sardines continue to shrink

On 28 May, La Provence published an article entitled Sardines are shrinking in the Mediterranean: for fishermen, "it's the tuna's fault"..

We spoke to our colleague Daniela Banaru about the causes of this phenomenon.

Water treatment combined with higher sea temperatures have led to a reduction in the size of plankton in the Mediterranean. The sardines that feed on them have also atrophied.
