NAUCRATES, monitoring has begun

After the prototyping phase last winter, the NAUCRATES devices have been deployed on the buoys of the two reserves of the Côte Bleue Marine Park. As a reminder, the purpose of these devices is to test the attractiveness of the buoys and to promote them.

During their first dives, the GIS Posidonie (Patrick Astruch) and the MIO (Sandrine Ruitton) noted the presence of the first members of the Centrolophidae family (the Black Centrolophus (Centrolophus niger), a species characteristic of floating objects).

Monitoring (diving and video) is carried out on all the buoys at least once a month for one year. The main aim is to assess the ecological added value of the NAUCRATES devices.

To be continued...
