Building on its partnership with the Zone Atelier Bassin Rhône (ZABR), established as part of the downstream Rhône project that it has been leading for over ten years, the CPIE Rhône-Pays d'Arles is organising the third edition of a conference for the general public in 2024, aimed at popularising research work on the Rhône.
Objectives:
- To make the issues surrounding the river visible and understandable to all, based on the work of researchers ;
- Promoting and encouraging female scientific careers linked to the river.
Video recordings of the "Sciences Pluri'elles conference - women in river research" have been produced, featuring interviews with female researchers.
Daniela Banaru - Lecturer in population biology and marine ecology at Aix Marseille University and researcher at the Institut Méditerranéen d'Océanologie, presents her research on the role of the Rhone's contribution to the functioning of marine ecosystems. She then answered questions put by the students during the speed-dating session organised in the collections of the Musée départemental Arles antique.
