After a previous edition held remotely, the AFEM is back with its face-to-face meetings in Carqueiranne, near Toulon, for dynamic exchanges on the latest research results on microorganisms and their environment. From the study of cultivated microbial models to complex natural communities, from viruses to microeukaryotes, in continental or marine environments, come and share and discuss your results around different scientific themes:
- the functional ecology of microorganisms
- their role in biotic interactions
- microeukaryotes in microbial assemblages
- microbial ecotoxicology and bioindication
- the evolution, phylogeny and adaptation of microorganisms
- ecological engineering and bioprocesses
- ecophysiology and microbial metabolism
- theoretical ecology and modelling
- chemical ecology and communication
Your interest in these different themes, to be expressed when submitting abstracts, will be used to programme the different sessions of this symposium. Each half-day session will be launched by one of the invited speakers presented on the dedicated page.
In the mild autumnal climate of the Côte d'Azur and in the purest AFEM tradition, we look forward to welcoming you to the Village Club Miléade in Carqueiranne, a holiday centre overlooking the Mediterranean and the Giens peninsula.
The next dates to remember are
- registration: from 01/03/23 to 15/07/23
- submission of abstracts: from 01/03/23 to 15/04/23
- awards for oral presentations and posters: June 23
