. This LMI, launched in 2018, brings together Vietnamese and French teams and is physically based at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH). LOTUS is developing an innovative integrated approach to studying the transport and fate of water and matter in the river-estuary-ocean continuum, mainly in the Red River delta in northern Vietnam. LOTUS's ambition is to contribute to the construction of a cutting-edge laboratory for environmental studies, capable of meeting Vietnam's needs and demands in terms of sustainable development, in close collaboration with the USTH's education programmes.
